We are the first human beings to see a Mars sunset. It’s quite a thought

I was telling my mom the other day about the International Space Station. The most recent episode of SNL had a sketch where Steve Carell is on the ISS floating around. I told my mom about it and she said something like, "I'm not really interested in science fiction sketches." And I said something like, "Huh? They're on the ISS." "What's that? The ISS?" "The International Space Station: it's a real thing that's orbiting the planet, and there are people on it right now." She was surprised to learn about this. I was like, I think it's the most expensive object ever made; it must have been all over the news in the nineties when they started building it. She said she was so focused on raising her kids in the nineties that she must have missed it.
