Opinion are different from person to person, most peoples like to have legit ones than the one obtained illegally because there’s no effort, sweat or blood etc was put in the pokemon that was made by third party software than the ones that was obtained legally(events, wild encounter or breeding) so that makes it worthless or just trying to avoid ban hammer from Gamefreak or Nintendo(everyone is afraid of ban, who isn’t?) also most peoples refer genned pokemon as hacked pokemon those both words really just mean the same thing.

This is irrelevant to what you asked but this is what i personally think and differentiate both genned and hacked:

Genned pokemons are mostly pokemon that are genned using third party software but they are “legal” as long as you can encounter that certain shiny legendary with perfect 6iv even if the chance of that happening second to none, by legal i mean that you can use them for raid, online battles etc and you wont get banned for it.

Hacked pokemons are also made by third party software but they have unusually and illegally high stats and have moves that they shouldn’t have, and also pokemon that can’t be shiny and never had any event that distribute their shiny version. If you are using one online you are more likely to get banned for it
