James Corden's alright.

A British perspective:

He wrote a nice enough sitcom called Gavin & Stacey which seems to be him and this one girls brain child. He was likeable enough in it. Rob Brydon was legendary as ever. Years after he's proved himself adequate enough on panel shows...he's marketable, and so, got picked up by the US.

He's not nearly as funny or never will be as funny as Norm MacDonald. But he was obviously screen tested and beat out Norm. Everyone, including Arite, is acting as if it isn't a popularity contest. Norm's arguably the funniest/wittiest man of the century. But he would NEVER get 10mil views sat uncomfortably next to Rihanna. It's all a numbers game.

And before you hate on Corden, he's alright. Stewart Lee attacked him, doing his typical character, and in whatever interview it was revealed Corden personally came up to him all self conscious. It's apparent he respects one of the greats like Lee, and was totally worried about what he thought.
