He got career traction for telling a tall tale about working at the WTC, being inside when the shit went down, and narrowly escaping death. In actuality, he was never employed there, and was nowhere within the vicinity on that fateful day. He went into breathless detail about this complete lie during several interviews. It basically morphed into a claim to fame and a publicity tour. He seems to be a good guy, and he's been a good sport about taking shit for this from colleagues, but that's some seriously twisted behavior that would make you wonder about somebody's head for life. He says it was a misunderstanding that got blown out of proportion. It seems like something a total sociopath would do.
