Attractive people of Reddit, when did you realize you were "hot"? What are the pros and cons?

Ah, you sound like an amazing dad! And I'm glad your friend got help. I'm sure she has choice words on this issue then.

Unfortunately I can't think of much beyond learning to brush it off. Learning to fight back physically is great, but they rarely break any laws.

You talking to the guys could be very useful, I suppose, esp. while she's younger. The guys might not even realize how inappropriate they are being, the behavior is so normalized. "You're growing up to be such a beautiful young lady" can be SUPER creepy. ...sooooo creepy.

The problem is, fundamentally, that women aren't taken seriously, esp. not once they've been sexualized. The best thing for her to do is resist with confidence. I took a guys picture once, he disappeared FAST.

The real problem is that even telling them to fuck off is seen as a form of engagement. "Hey, she's talking to me!"

So sticking up for yourself isn't really... effective.Your resistance is seen as a cute challenge.

"I'm just being friendly." "Fuck off." "Why are you so hostile? I'm just saying, you're beautiful. I just want to talk. Why can't we talk." "I have no interest in talking to you." "Why someone so beautiful have to be so mean?" Like... are you FUCKING KIDDING ME.

I dunno. It's such a hard issue, because the creeps are so good at not doing it when other people (men esp.) are around. It's their specialty.

I'm sorry I don't have any better ideas. =(
