The question has to be asked of the overpopulation alarmists: if you are so sure that the only way to save the earth & humanity is by decreasing the population, and this is a truly held altruistic belief, then why don’t you “be the change you want to see in the world” and jump off a cliff?

I would never tell to someone that they should off themselves, but it is easy to deduce the reason why they don’t pursue that option: it isn’t a truly held altruistic belief at all—they want others to die for their own future comfort. The idea being, once there are less people, they can enjoy abundance free from guilt.

They might protest “that is why I am not having a child!”, but not having a child is easy; children demand care and resources and if you haven’t had one you likely don’t truly understand what you get in return. It doesn’t show much courage in your convictions to just not have kids and instead spend that time & money on yourself.
