Baby Witch™ aka 'I'm New & Need Help!' — Bi-Weekly Questions & Answers Thread — Ask questions, introduce yourself, get your readings interpreted, & chat!

Hi, I'm a 26 year old woman, and I'm really interested in magick/witchcraft, but I've never really gave myself the opportunity to really learn and explore. I'd like to be a green witch, and I'll never delve into dark magick, hexes, curses, etc. I just posted to the magick subreddit, and I'd like to share here what I shared there. I'll just copy/paste for simplicity. I'd also like more general tips for how to begin, like how to create my journal, what to focus on in my daily life, etc.

"I'm very new to magick, and I've been doing a good amount of research on how to get started and the one thing I can tell that is crucial to magick is mindfulness and meditation.

I did a little meditating last night before bed, and again this morning and I pictured the same sort of scenario during both sessions, so I decided to write it down (the best I could).

I generally struggle with creativity, and I could not usually write anything outside of a research paper, but this just flowed from my mind to paper.

I'd like to share it with this community, and receive whatever feedback you feel I need, but please be kind, I'm no writer, and this feels like a part of my soul.

*imagine yourself on a raft, just large enough to sit on with your legs crossed. You are sitting on this raft, floating in the ocean, you can feel the sea water lapping all around you, but you know you will not fall in, you are balanced.

Look right, you can see the shore, it's warm sand inviting and reachable; it's trees and bushes rich with abundant life.

Look left, you can see nothing but blue horizon, open, free of limits.

Look down, you see the dark, endless depths of cold, crushing water. Unforgiving, curiously enchanting.

Look up, and see the bright, warm sun, giving constant light & life, but it is not uncomfortable to look into directly.

There is little wind.

As you sit in your raft, you acknowledge the dangers below, but you know you are balanced. You understand your choices: the safe, warm shore; the neverending horizon, or serenity between.

You feel no need to explore the vast horizon, you have your life-sustaining beach just to your right. You feel no need to be on the sand, you know it is there anytime you need.

The winds begin to pick up, you may begin to feel fear- of what? You will not fall from your raft

You realize the winds react to your call.

In fear, you may ask your wind to guide you to your safe shore. In bravery, you may ask your wind to carry you further out to sea.

In peace, you need no wind. The shore will never be far, the horizon is always open, your raft will never tip, the sun will never burn.

Your will is your sail.*

I really appreciate any constructive feedback."

If anyone reads more into my little meditation than I've put into words, please let me know, I didn't write it very "well", but I feel connected to the main ideas.
