Dr Gannon, DMSc, PA-C, PAL, BuDDY always dreamed of being an oncologist. But she didn't want to just focus on the disease, she wanted to focus on the patient.

Her depth of empathy and concern extends so far that she has spent years trying to understand the cancer that she is ultimately trying to treat.

"I am a very caring person. I knew from a very early age, my 2nd and last year of PA school, that we need to treat the whole person instead of the disease. So I've devoted my life's work to understanding the cancer. Not the pathophysiology or oncogenesis or ways to treat it. But, I asked myself, 'Self, why does cancer cause so many problems? Is it just misunderstood?'

So I started my new foundation. The Foundation for Unified Cancer Kindness Educating Doctors."
