I've pointed this out to liberal friends and they treat it like a 9/11 conspiracy theory. Its so fucking obvious that it makes my head hurt.

Ask anyone who has ever lived off the charity of others while producing nothing on their own. I lived with my parents for two months during a job search this year. It bred laziness, procrastination, and other bad habits, while simultaneously sapping my self confidence and self esteem. My daily actions had NO effect on my well being, so I found it very difficult to do anything truly productive.

I'm not saying we should let people starve, but more welfare is not helping people get on their feet. These communities need human capital and welfare saps that away. We need to bring JOBS to these communities, attainable jobs that don't require a 4-year degree. We need to restore family structure and get people out of prison and into good jobs. We need to stop telling people they are victims and start telling them that if they play by the rules and work hard, they can succeed.
