American Dream
You are weary
You are lost
You are surrounded by challenges
You miss your homeland
You miss your mother
You miss your father
You miss your cat
What's the worth to leave all and seek uncertainty?
You are sailing alone
So what, you aren't alone
There are many like you
You are one of the many
Who will enhance the saga of human path
You are the standard bearer of an ancient culture
You are the beacon of hope in the land of hope
Does the hope really come true?
Do we really get rich in the land of hope?
I cannot see it
Is that hope false?
Is that search for freedom a failure?
There comes a man out of nowhere
A bleating example of bourgeoisie
A man milked in wealth and power
A man barking with all his might
He wants you out "his" country
He wants to build imaginary walls
He wants to separate everyone
Your existence in this land of hope is threatened
Your values are shaken
You have given a lot to this country
This country should be yours
They say you do not belong here
They say you don't have the right color
They say you are poor
They say you take away their jobs
They say you need to speak their language
So land of hope and freedom isn't for everyone?
"I have the wrong color"
"I have the wrong culture"
"I belong to a primitive culture"
"I am not good enough for this country"
On the other hand an old grandpa comes along with a message of peace and love
He wants you to stay and contribute more
**He loves you**
He appreciates you
He feels sorry for all the hatred
But is he doing all this to gain followers
Who knows? Do we need to care?
Confused
Despaired
Dazed
Bewildered
The decision time is here
Is this country for everyone or a select few?
Does the land of hope and freedom works for all?
You aren't left or right
Nor center
You're just a bone and flesh human asking those people,
"Am I welcome here and to share the dream?"
