Is the Big 12 really best for Texas?

UT can do as they wish, by creating a network...but in return, UT should not be confused why schools left the big12 as a result. UT should also understand that their decision led to other Texas schools gaining relevance. The gain in relevance by those schools, is what has caused recruiting to skip at UT.

The dynamics changed drastically due to the creation of a longhorn network. The LHN and other school networks don't really help with promoting a big 12 brand. Since the big 12 brand isn't being sold properly, it has caused Texas kids to go to play football elsewhere.

Why go to UT to play in the wrist if the P5 conference, when I can go to TAMU and play in the SEC. If a Texas kid wanted to go to the big 12, then TCU would be a better choice in my opinion. At TCU, you at least have a shot at the playoffs.

IT used to be the Texas powerhouse. This was also a time when there was UT and then the other Texas schools that UT holds down internationally. Since that dynamic changed, I don't see UT coming back like they used to and I don't see them fitting in at other conferences. The Pac 12 didn't want UT because of LHN.

LHN gives money to UT but it doesn't create a partnership. IT needs to be a partner if it wants to be successful in a conference.
