I get what you mean. You can increase blocksize now. But this is not going to happen. It has become obvious in the past year that blocksize incease is seen like desert. Miners, exchanges, and other businesses have no problem of eating it and it's preferably the only thing they are interesting in eating. But we all need to eat the Brussels sprouts, too. So, it makes more sense to have everyone finish a healthy meal first, instead of getting our arteries clogged with only suggar and fat and skipping the vegetables.

It's really childish, but the businesses really behave like that. They want bitcoin to be aligned with their business models (eat the desert) and externalize all the work and cost (eating the Brussels sprouts) to the community.
