Blockstream co-founder Greg Maxwell openly claims that "Decentralized consensus is impossible" and advocates for "admission control" in decentralized systems.
He clearly was talking about his beliefs while at wikipedia and the story is about how he changed them later, supposedly.
It's not strong enough to say that I think Greg Maxwell is one of the worst people on earth. The damage and fractures he's directly caused in the Bitcoin community have set cryptocurrency back years. That is why posts like these make me furious.
By lying about what he said, you encourage trolls to point out that he didn't mean it that way, and you make him look like a "good guy".
