Box Office News: IT Floats High With A Record $13.5 Million On Thursday Night

Book fans are just jaded to what an actual adaptation is supposed to do. I.E ...it isn't supposed to be a scene by scene, carbon copy of the original. you just don't understand how adaptations work. With very few exceptions, they can NEVER be scene by scene, point by point re-creations.

Since you've happily assumed the premise I used to arrive at my review, I won't bother commenting on the rest of your post. I didn't say any of the things you implied! Your anger and unnecessary rant are misplaced. I've clarified in another comment that I don't care about an adaptation being loyal to the book. Also, I thought The Shining was one of the best adaptations of any book ever made. IT inspired neither the fear nor the excitement that the book managed and the movie The Shining managed. Anyway, good for you that you enjoyed it. I didn't and I will stand by my review. Your audience is not the authority on what's good and what isn't, every fan gets to have a PERSONAL say in that (since capitalizing apparently makes words truer according to you). Next time, try and understand where a person is coming from before jumping into a long narrative dismissing what you want their thought process to be (free advice for life, enjoy!).
