I am not sure why people want to pretend to be an Eagle Scout. I happen to actually be one, no i don't need to prove it just like I don't need to prove I was in the military to you. The reason for my confusion though, is that being in the scouts while in High School was so incredibly unpopular that it took every bit of dedication to not drop out due to peer pressure. Scouts was seen as preppy and full of sissy homosexuals, the only thing worse popularity wise would to be a male cheerleader. So, when people step forth and claim to be an Eagle Scout and not be one, I see it as a form of stolen valor, it was social suicide for me to get mine.
