Mr. Speaker,

Though my colleagues have clearly cemented their disapproval of the bill, I have quite a different stance on this. This bill isn't saying that we want you to go back, but just to assist those who wish to return to their home country. Ultimately some amendments should be done such as the inability for them to reapply for Canadian citizenship for 20 years and section 3-D of this bill. I do not believe that these people should be given a chance for them to come back and can ultimately wait until the passport expires anyways or simply continue to renew it. I also believe that no matter what an immigrant to Canada should be eligible for assistance by the government to return to their home country.

This bill will not encourage or discourage Canadian immigrants to to leave but will only make things easier for them. The only thing I do think that should be changed is that some amendments should be made on the bill but ultimately the intentions are good and at the moment I can not support the bill.
