Was that a normal Taking Back Sunday performance?

I just want to compare the last two times Ive seen them (both in 2022) vs the first few times I saw them (2001-03). This may be completely irrelevant. But when they first started touring they were one of the most exciting bands to see live. Adam in small punk clubs climbing from the rafters and throwing his mic. Great vocals high energy. It was great. I maybe saw them once or twice between 2004 and this year, and it was the typical band profession from exciting obscurity to ok now they are selling out big venues and most fans aren’t that into it because they only know one song, those shows weren’t memorable but not notoriously bad.

I was shocked when I saw them in 2022. At first I didn’t realize it was the same band then I said oh there must be a new singer. Back in the day the dude was in the zone and I don’t remember him talking a whole lot. Now in 2022 he was throwing heavy Steven Tyler vibes and doing a lot of chit chat. Both shows he named dropped famous people he knew. And when he opened for third eye blind he was shilling for them so much. I get that he was the opener but it was so wire to see them like that.

Tell all your friends album still holds up as some of the best songs that ever came out of this genre. But I don’t see a reason to ever see them live again.
