[California] Ask Me (Almost) Anything- I'm An EDD Employee (Part 2)

When I applied for PUA in May we were on locdown and I wasnt able to do my taxes yet and they extended taxes until July 15th. I called EDD hundreds of times and wasnt able to get ahold of anyone. Finally I got ahold of someone in Disibility insurance and asked if they can give me advice and explained that I was self employed 1099 and havent done my taxes. She suggested i put what was on my 1099s gross income and that EDD has ways to figure it out. My gross income was over 17,000 and have been recieving 344 a month. Now that im reading things, looks like that was wrong and have been getting overpayments by about 4200! Looks like I should have been getting $167 a month. Why would she give me false information? Dont know what to do and im freaking out! Can you please help? I have two family members that have compromised immune systems and cannot work. If I let EDD know will they terminate benifits completely? Can I work out a payment plan?
