I respectfully disagree. I love digimon adventure, but I can't help but feeling half the main cast are side characters to tai+agumon and matt+gabumon. Sora+biyomon, mimi+palmon and Joe+gomamon are especially neglected, and izzy loses his "guide/know-it-all" position pretty early on until gennai upgrades his laptop, which also seems to be mirrored in tentomon.

The only 2 pairing that seem as important as tai, agumon, matt and gabumon are kari+gatomon and tk+patamon. I think they tried to push too many characters into the show all at once, and every other season seems to have more care and attention given to the main characters because they have less.
