Can people do policing once diagnosed with depression?

I’m in the process of applying for deputy sheriff at the moment, and they didn’t seem to care when I mentioned I have had depression in the past. Above all else, always answer the questions honestly in your psych evaluation! They will rephrase certain things constantly in little ways to make sure you are telling the truth about everything. They don’t care about what you answer as long as you’re consistent in your answers. Even if they seem turned off or weirded out by your answers, it is a mind game. They want to see you can be consistent even when doubted by authority. This was a tip from a cop buddy of mine and it has proved invaluable in the hiring process.
