I don't know. That's a very individual and personalised matter I think. An approach of method or means may work for someone in a few cases but not be amenable to wider application. And across individuals it is difficult to say, if we are at differing developmental stages for instance, or culture generates divides (in assumptions, in general world view etc).

I am in a Faith that I majoratively agree with. There are aspects of the 'culture' that I find personally difficult and aspects of its laws I don't understand or disagree with (because the intellectual or subtle reasons of explanation given have not met enough satisfaction in my understanding).

I also live in a country and society that I find generates cognitive dissonance and conflict of identity/non-identity regularly, disagreement of policies that are enacted politically, populist celebrations and attitudes that don't meet my inner reality or demands, and so on. Or I'm in a workspace that generates degrees of discomfort at times, but in the wider interest in communal conviviality I tend to accept as inescapable, I make an inner adjustment of attitude. There are degrees of similarity here in how I relate to and through the Faith.

The laws have proceeded from a plane of existence that is non-temporal (and, presumably, non-gendered, as you have mentioned in relation to the soul). It strikes me this is closely related, perhaps (opinion here), as to origins and the forces that Baha'u'llah identifies as forming the known created universe (universes?). These have an appearance of association in form if not concept with what we call masculine and feminine. In human experience these are not necessarily fixed to ones external presenting gender. There are interiorites or psychologies, subtleties and nuance of 'energy' (libido in a non-sexual, non Freudian usage) that occur in relation to identity and orientation here. So an 'answer' may lie in this direction (depth psychological concepts, or esoteric understanding of how subtle forces are enacted and cohered to in human body-minds). My thinking and pondering of this matter dwells in these regions.
