Can we talk about how shady the TP business is?

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your reply. I wanted to talk about market manipulation that typically happens with speculations and how will Anet handle these situations? Now I do not have hard data like you do on your end so some of the examples I will talk about

After most patches like the one today we typically see a spike or rise in value as demand is estimated to rise with the addition of content/newrecipes/etc. Typically this is standard supply and demand mechanics (such as Superior Sigil of Mischief and Superior Rune of Snowfall required for Winter's Presence) but what I want to ask about are market monopoly and P&D schemes and other Microcap style frauds.

You may remember some events like the karka shell and potato P&Ds that occurred in the past as well as slumps in markets like the Superior Rune of Vamp. I am not talking about the players who made a few hundred gold, I am talking about the players who made tens of thousands of gold which continues to help them run market strategies to start snowballing trends in their favor. Such as snatch up the few remaining perm contracts (similar to what happened to the Scythe Staff Skin Between Oct 15th 2013 and Oct 16th 2013).

How does Anet plan on combating such market manipulation without having to heavily interfere with the market on your end? Obviously we have only seen basic types of manipulative schemes (that I know of) that are based on supply and demand.

However with the ongoing war on Bots and the implementation of heavy gold sinks into the economy while draining raw income has caused a shift in the market. With the addition of highly coveted skins that are becoming a trend that cost mini fortunes (Nightfury and Winters Presence) there are bound to be more and more in-depth scandals brewing on the horizon on the ever increasing need to accumulate wealth in this game. What does Anet have plan to do for the regular gw2 player without the need to flat out give up and resort to pulling out the credit card?

I bring up these topics because I deeply care about this game, its economic health and its player base.
