Career fair attire

If there are any recruiters reading this, can you please convince the career centers that suits are no longer necessary in today’s environment? At the engineering fair last week, literally every table was staffed with people wearing t-shirts. I did not see one professional with a tie, and I saw >50% of students with ill-fitted, poor looking suits. It’s sad.

It’s time to end the “dress to impress” mentality that disproportionately affects students who can not afford “nice” clothing. Besides, the clothes you wear have no relation to the potential value that you bring to a company (except maybe in clothing-related industries).
