I've made the poor decision of getting a williams rhapsody years ago and now it's nearly unplayable. (some keys are stuck playing fortissimo, weight touch is broken, bad speakers, knob doesn't work)

Looking to upgrade for a better digital keyboard for my dad and I, we have a USB to Host cable and some VSTs.

I've also read the FAQ on suggestions and what to avoid. Would the yamaha p-45 be the right choice since we'll be using a VST and we're not interested in built-in features/voices? Budget is between 500$-700$. The main purpose is just amateur practicing of classical and pop music, recording pieces with the VST record option. (so the lack of built-in p-45 recording is fine) I'm just hesitant and looking for help since I don't want to make a mistake again. We're not beginners, but I don't think a higher end piano is needed as much.

Thank you for any advice!
