The Causes and Consequences of Berlin’s Rapid Gentrification

You misunderstood me. I'm not defending them at all. The underlying problem is the link between politics and finance and this is what the centrists don't want discussed. If politicians really want to eliminate the problem of vulture investors, then why not prohibit speculation in real estate by not allowing a single owner/benefactor more than X properties or taxing rental income by non-individuals a prohibitively large number? Have you ever looked at the backgrounds of the world's central bankers? They all have ties to large banks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Carney https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Draghi The policies these people implement are designed to keep money in their own circles and the rest of society as modern day serfs. Look at what's happening with Deutsche Bank - who do you think is going to pay for the assets they're offloading? The German taxpayer!
