Character Discussion: Catelyn Stark

GOT Catelyn X Brandon stark had bid her wait as well. "I shall not be long my lady" he had vowed. "we shall wed on my return."Yet when the day came at last, it had been his brother Eddard who stood beside her in the sept. Ned had scarcely lingered a fortnight with his new bride before he too had ridden off to war with promises on his lips. At least he had left her with more than words;he had given her a son. Nine moons had waxed and waned, and Robb had been born in Riverrun While his father still warred in the south she had brought him forth in blood and pain not knowing wheather Ned would ever see him. her son.He had been so small.... i think this is ambiguous.she is thinking about Brandon asking her to wait at the start of this thought. ...At least he had left her with more than words;he had given her a son... IMO she is thinking that at least Brandon had left her with more than words also "9 moons had waxed and waned" is a bit weird too,9 moons Since when ? since Brandon..? or Ned ? im no astronomer but 9 moons can wax and wane in 36 weeks a baby gestates for 40 weeks, so theres one month she admits to.

"he had been SO SMALL" Catelyn thinks he was a small baby, maybe he was easy to pass off as premature but i dont think she had to.I think she would have been able to stay hidden in Riverrun. ".....not knowing whether Ned would see him. HER son. He was so small... why not HIS son or their son? I think this is why GRRM's writting is so good. There is ambiguity that lends itself to multiple readings with Different ways of viewing what is being said or thought. As for Luwin,he is loyal to Catelyn for sure in my opinion. he came to Winterfell with Cat from Rivverrun. He is supposed to be loyal to the house he serves(Stark) but the pantomime that was played out when the "letter"came in the box with the lens that started the whole thing,to me shows hes loyal to Cat. They tag teamed Ned into going south to take that job as hand and got rid of Jon Snow. If you read the chapter Catelyn II with that in mind, you will see it yourself. I see parallels between Cat and Cersei with their scheming ambition to further their family and their children, and when i say their family i mean Tully not Stark and Lannister not Baratheon. Cat is really dissapointed with Ned and the North from her first chapter and she doesnt really think about him without thinking about Brandon until hes dead that is,(oh Ned)when the guilt kicks in. Again im not trying to change your mind im just giving you my opinion of how i read it just as you are giving me yours and i respect that.
