Look at the condition I left this 4-br house in. The LL is STILL complaining about a 1" chip of paint! How do I educate her on "wear and tear" - or should I just go ape shit on her? It's been a year of nickle & diming me in every possible way.

The cheap blinds are all hers & were bent when I moved in. The oven and microwave were nearly trashed when I moved in & they are cleaner now. The paint chipped off because it is a horrid paint job with unbelievably cheap paint that couldn't withstand a command strip (that I pulled off dozens of times). I paid for all maintenance like snow and lawn care. When i asked her if she had a battery for a smoke detector (since she has like 8 in the house) that was beeping, she called her realtor to ask if she is required to provide it! A $3 battery??

When I did the move-out walkthrough with them, I told them they could have my curtains and vacuum as agreed ($120 for 4 curtain panels, originally $240 - and the vacuum was $60, originally $140)... they just walked out with the items and said "we'll pay you with the security deposit" WTF!? I sent them a text message demanding payment now and they went silent for 6 hours and then paid. I am just so disgusted with them & they actually had the nerve to make it seem like I made things difficult because, god forbid, I complained when things broke that I could not fix (like the hot water heater which allowed one 8 minute shower every 2 hours).

At least I am out of there. I am paying someone $20 to patch and paint the 1" chip - but for fucks sake, has anyone else dealt with this level of insanity? They are not supposed to be landlords if they don't know the law about "Wear and tear" (among a dozen other things).

Ok - rant over. My movers also destroyed my TV so this whole process has put me on edge.
