I think it's the other way around. It's not so much they're like glued to it but the fact is all of the other fan groups do in fact talk about it and because they do, it's just standard practice to check in on what's being said about them. Absolutely everyone in the industry either has someone on their team keeping an ear to the ground or they do it themselves.

And it's the first time something like this happened because of negative attention from their own fans to this degree. They're also obsessed with themselves so they definitely have an incentive to pay attention and not directly interfere. But I don't think they'd do something to cause activity here. Maybe something partly in response to activity here since it'll piss off the rest of the fandom. Like the timing of the ivermectin thread and Zac's random burst today aren't probably completely unrelated but also not entirely about it if that makes sense.
