The Cursed Child Reactions

I am used to reading scripts. The format of the story makes no odds to me. I have really mixed feelings about it.

The characters we spot on. It was Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny completely. I really bought them. The dialogue was charming and made me laugh. The stage directions look brilliant. I can only imagine what an amazing spectacle they would be on stage. It will be an absolutely awe-inspiring thing to see.

BUT

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

There are some plot elements I don't buy. Would Voldemort father a child?? Why? When he believed he was going to live forever and wouldn't EVER want a dark wizard that could possibly rival him? I can only guess that conception occurred through magical means. Can you imagine Voldemort maintaining an erection?? Would he consider any woman worthy to be shagged by him, let alone to receive his seed?

And the time turner thing? Waaay too convenient. First of all that all the time turners were destroyed but then somebody just happened to make one? And then that's the only time turner but Oooh looook Draco just happens to have one and whadda ya know, it just happens not to have a time limit like the other one. How convenient!

What I loved about the original seven is how well planned and interlaced they are. This story was not begging to be told. If the original seven were a strongly built house, then the Cursed Child is quite a badly constructed conservatory tacked onto the outside.
