So I’m just reading up on vaccine requirements for our industry (VET sector) and we’ve been telling students that to attend an authorised education premises, they will need to be vaxxed in line with the authorised workers (single dose Oct 15). Reading through the DHHS education provider info and that is not the case. It specifically states that the requirement is only for staff and NOT students. Seriously? So we have to show a vax passport to grab a coffee (which I agree with) but it’s ok for adult students to sit around in a classroom unvaxxed? I’m so pissed off. I want my staff to be safe and if we push ‘no jab no entry’ some anti-vax gronk could ping us on discrimination (just found that on SafeWork Australia’s website). How did DHHS come to the conclusion that this wouldn’t be a requirement for our industry?
