Daughters one year follow up Dr. appointment.

I read your thread this morning and cant seem to get it off my mind. My son was born with a lot of gi issues. I was consuming gluten and all known allergens and knew something was wrong but didn't know where to start with elimination (breastfeeding). At four months I eliminated dairy and that seemed to help with his eczema and cradle cap. He was still having green and mucousy diapers so I had a feeling something else was hurting him. I begged and begged for refferals to allergists and gi specialists and finally received them when he was 10 months. Allergist confirmed that my son was allergic to dairy but also let us know that he showed elevated levels to nuts, wheat, and anaphylactic levels both in blood and skin prick to egg. Gi specialist said we would work on eliminating allergens from my diet to see if gi synptoms improved but agreed that if they didnt we would test him for celiac. I was not aware that the only way to get an answer is through endoscopy. I havent seen the gi since but i will be making a follow up appmnt soon. My son is very low on the weight percentile but he eats so great, which worries me. I am terrified of feeding him gluten for 6 weeks for that diagnosis but i know that it is necessary. I was hoping you could shed some light on the testing that was done before the endoscopy. Would those determine whether or not they perform the test? What about genetic testing?
