Ignored? Nah. It's just that most of us live north of the rivers and much of that area was in fact liberated by Canadians, Brits, and Poles.

The south of the country was liberated mostly by Americans though, and we give them plenty of credit for it. We still have the Margraten cemetery for example, which is lovingly maintained by the locals. Plus, we remember Market Garden in many places each year. The town of Ede for example has yearly airborne landings on the heath in remembrance.
