Dell XPS 13 9350 vs. Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th Gen.

  • Total budget and country of purchase: Under $1,500, but would like to go cheaper, if possible. United States.

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply. 2 in one form factor is nice, but not required. Good battery life is important - at least 5 hours, preferably more.

  • How important is weight to you? Very. I'd like a thin/light laptop.

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac. Windows.

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13-15.

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A. I'm going to use primarily MS Office and do web browsing, but occasionally I program, and would want to do light photo/video editing, and very light gaming.

  • If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Very light gaming. Think PacMan, not Call of Duty.

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I'd like a good keyboard, trackpad, and good build quality. I don't care if it has a touch-screen (unless it's a convertible with a digitizer, but I think that may be out of my price range).

  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I want the computer to be stable/reliable and not too glitchy. I don't want to spend a lot of time figuring out why "X" driver isn't working with the laptop itself. If the laptop is upgradable, that's a plus - but build quality and use stability is paramount.
