Did anyone else grow up "normal" Christian?

I grew up ELCA Lutheran. My mom was a Sunday School teacher. No one ever preached about homosexuality or lust. I really liked my female pastor and still keep in touch with her online.

My fascination with fundies started when I moved to the south for college. My crisis of faith happened because I suddenly had Southern Baptists and Pentecostals telling me what a hopeless unsaved sinner I was because I was baptized as a baby and voted blue.

For awhile I joined a Methodist youth group and volunteered with Episcopalians when I was still trying to figure out my beliefs. No negative experiences there either. It's just those couple years of going to fundie-lite prosperity gospel megachurches that ended up making me lose interest in organized religion.
