[DISCUSSION] Guitar center is preparing to file for bankruptcy.

It’s actually a really good story, too much to tell here. I was traveling to Memphis for a job interview. Henry and I had been in a conversation already so I suggested that I travel to Nashville to interview with him the same weekend. Even though both are in Tennessee it’s a 3 Hour Drive. I put the hotel bill and the travel. I was a little very tight timeline because I had to drive three hours back for my return flight from Memphis and he was perfectly aware. Basically he started the interview with me 20 minutes after the time I had communicated that I must positively be on the road. The interview was 30 minutes. He was a total weirdo. Sat in this fancy back office with ornate Asian sculptures. He offered me a as a product manager job on the spot at a very good salary. This is back in 1996. But the lack of respect he had shown me as well as what I gleaned about him during our conversation I left a very bad taste in my mouth. So obviously I did not take the job. Some years later I remember seeing an interview where he described himself as a workaholic and said that it had cost him his marriage. Yeah definitely the right decision on my part. By the way, that drive back to the Memphis airport was white knuckle and I made it onto my plane with about two minutes to spare. Thanks a lot Henry!
