About the Latest Episode [MY Opinion]

I want to start off by saying I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community. After watching the episode and reading some comments, I can understand where some people are coming from. I agree that Ethan was insensitive with some of the things he said (asking Matt if they’re a “top or a bottom”). Does this mean that Ethan is a homophobe and should be cancelled? No. Matt said themselves that they reached out to Ethan because they knew he had potential to learn and change. Ethan has since then apologized for the comments.

Now when it comes to Dans frustration; the last few weeks, the crew has noticed some comments from people overreacting to certain situations. I believe Dans reaction was a build up from that, rather than from the comments of just the latest episode. I genuinely believe Dan wouldn’t have reacted that badly if the negative comments were only from this episode.

If you are hurt by anything Ethan said, then that’s valid, but it should be taken into consideration that he has since then learned to not say those things and has apologized. I’d also like to note that they also had the option to not take Matt’s call.

I think Ethan has good intentions but is just extremely insensitive sometimes, but does this mean he’s a homophobe because of last nights episode? Personally, no.

I also want to say that I don’t mean for this to make anyone upset; everyone has a right to feel the way they do, now they just have to make a decision on whether or not those feelings determine if they continue watching or not. I can’t really see what more Ethan can do at this point. If he still doesn’t learn and continue to make these comments then Ethan should be held accountable.
