[DISCUSSION] Taylor stans, how do you feel about the whole situation right now?

First, I hate the "stan" reference. I mean, I wouldn't want to label myself as a psychotic, abusive asshole fan like Stan was in that song... just feels kinda degrading.

Anywho, I feel like it's all a wonderful publicity stunt. Swift stays in the public eye while she's got nothing to offer for new music. Kanye keeps his kinda boring album in the public eye. (I love me some Kanye, but Pablo wasn't my thing.) And Kim is a Kardashian and they'll do anything for publicity. Feuding is a good way to keep you in the public eye (ahem Meek Mill), when you're not actually making something new.

I love Swift's music (good lord 1989 is one of my favorite pop albums), but as a whole, she's had a very calculated career, to the point where her dad bought in on the record company she's signed to. Her "America's Sweetheart" thing is pretty well cultivated and grew out of all that "OH MY GOSH, YOU LOVE ME!" Sally Field-vibe in the early part of her days doing pop-country. It's not overly surprising she's pulling this (if it even is a genuine, "I never actually agreed" thing), she'd used the whole Kanye thing for years, she milked that controversy dry.

As for not listening to her music, well that's a personal choice for everyone but her music is good enough or at least catchy enough to withstand her character issues. Our attention span isn't long, by the time she releases her next album, providing she doesn't reference this whole mess, she'll be fine.
