Albums/eras that were so big they actually hurt the artist’s career?

She’s been overexposed as hell in 2019-present, dropping FIVE albums in less than three years, each with a gargantuan inescapable traditional rollout and stans going haywire all over the socials. The fact one of these projects was only a b-sides album, two were just re-recordings of old music, and one of the two original albums was poorly received even by her own fandom (yet still pushed and shoved on the public) is bad enough, but even the one genuinely well received, original project (Folklore ofc) was so massively overhyped that it ended up being awarded yet another Grammy, making her the only artist in history with three AOTYs other than Stevie Wonder, a title she doesn’t even come close to deserving, which permanently revoked any claim she ever had to being some kind of underdog.
