[Discussion] What's a Canadian city that most people don't realize has a really great quality of life?

I've lived in various cities and towns for months(s)-long bursts of my work. (I telework now, so I'm not tied to any particular city.) I've been in each of these places at least 6 months over the years.

- Saskatoon was a very pleasant surprise when I first visited in the late 80s. Have been back many times since and always enjoy it.

- Winnipeg is a surprise if all you think of is "ice and snow". There's a vibrant community and a lot to do. Downtown is a dump don't stay there. (currently living here)

- Ottawa has an amazing amount to do, but the more I'm away from it, the more it's a place to visit, not live. Downtown is a ghost town once all the government workers go home.

- Halifax is amazing. If you like a more relaxed pace in a modern city, it's great. We're considering moving there in the next few years.
