Is private school worth it?

I went to a private school and in my case it was necessary and worth it.

When I was younger I started out in public school and struggled tremendously. Even to this day I never really understand what I did wrong but I was always being sent to the principals office or sent home because I was being distracted in class or was not paying attention. I remember clearly one time when I was in kindergarten the principal telling me that if I keep behaving like this I’ll go to jail one day.

The teachers would ask my parents if I had ADHD/ADD, suggest that they should ask the doctor for a prescription of Ritalin, would even ask my parents if my home environment was abusive. My doctor suggested to my parents that I should try a private school for the smaller class sizes and individualized learning

My parents were able to put me through private school and they saved everything and sacrificed all luxuries for it to happen, and it was the best thing that happened for me. I always tell people that my ROI was greater on private school than it was on my university tuition. Not all private schools are cliché spoiled rich kids. It’s just a different way of learning in some cases

So my suggestion is to give public school a shot, but if things don’t work out perhaps exploring private school might be a great option
