Does anyone know what actual guns are being issued to volunteer fighters?

They probably have enough rifles to go around, however handguns aren’t generally used in wartime unless by very high ranking officers and other non combatant roles (only for self defense). Rifles beat handguns every single time, and the added logistics of maintaining and supplying a whole other cartridge of ammunition means that 99.9% of “grunts” will only have a rifle with no handgun. Even the US military doesn’t usually issue handguns to grunts. Rifles being used there right now are 90% ak74 and a mish mash of akm, even older ak47, aks74u, rpk and rpk74. I’m sure that svd and pkm are also around but not nearly as common. The only cartridges that would be well stocked (on both sides as well) are 5.45x39mm, 7.62x39mm, and 7.62x54mmR. I have seen that other nations have started supplying weapons as well. Portuguese G3’s firing 7.62x51mm NATO, probably g36 variants and other NATO standard rifles firing 5.56x45mm NATO.
