Don't forget Court today! 3:00pm MST - Watch through WebEx.

Alright, you seem pretty defensive and I’m not sure why because you literally asked a question to which I answered. You said “what about it being open and accessible to the public”. I answered your question. I did not downvote you, I don’t know who did, but it was not me.

I’m a law student, I know streaming is not uncommon particularly where there is public interest in the case. The judge needs to have control over their court room, in person they can remove people. WebEx took that control away and turned the room into a fiasco. No judge will allow that to happen again. It disrupts the court and removes all parties reasonable expectation to due process and can taint the jury pool if it comes to that. It’s not unreasonable to have a one way stream, like Court tv does, they have permission from the courts and the stream comments can not impact the proceedings. The judge has a lot more to consider than a YouTube channel sub count and while I appreciate it doesn’t seem unreasonable to you, the judge has made her decision for right now. That might change. I don’t know.

To help the judge understand? Do you really think a serving judge doesn’t understand all the angles? She does. She’s good at her job and she does understand it. I get that this wasn’t the outcome you wanted for this, however JLs words aren’t the only way to know what’s going on, there will be filings that will document everything during after and before any trial. These are often public record.
