I have a special needs child who spent the first year of his life on a ventilator in the ICU. He’s almost four now and doing pretty well, considering.

This kid adores Thunder by Imagine Dragons with all his heart. “Nunder” is one of the only words he can say. I play that song probably five or more times per day. Do I love the song? I mean, it’s getting a little old, sure.

But you guys should see his little face light up when Nunder comes on (again). The song and therefore the band, have made an incredible difference to us. Will my little guy be made fun of? Yeah, I’m sure, for a bunch of things more serious than what music he likes. But for now I appreciate the hell out of Imagine Dragons and couldn’t give two shits about whether they’re “cool”.
