Being racist because of the time you came from is still being racist.

People act like there are these two absolute categories of racist and not racist. Just because someone doesn't join the KKK or spout white supremacist rhetoric doesn't mean they don't have a little racism in them, and just because someone has a little racism in them doesn't mean they can't still be a sweet old grandma who means well.

She was born in 1915 but she's lived a long enough life to learn new things and grow as a person. It's not an excuse, and all the people born in eras where racism was the norm who have changed stand as a shining example that age and outdated culture are not insurmountable hurdles.
