Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they want to rinse their ears with drain cleaning formula when they listen to modern country?

Wow you got to see him? That's amazing.

I've been utterly obsessed with Townes after years ago realising that many of my favourite songs from that slice of American folk country whatever were written by Townes. Like John prines version of Loretta, or guys version of Rex's blues. Lyle Lovetts version of lungs and his 'if I needed you' is just beautiful. I'd started to teach myself guitar in late teens and I'd look for tabs for those guys and they would repeatedly credit this dude, Townes van Zandt. So that's how I found Townes. In the late nineties in small beach town in Australia. It's 25 years later and I still sing and play Townes songs daily although I have three kids so not as much as I used to. My oldest child, Townes, is 12.

I do have the Bluebird Cafe recordings, behind Keepers it's my favourite Guy performance.
