I don't understand why I keep losing fights as condition necromancer.

It's not my main, but I do like playing condi necro a lot in spvp...it's probably my second or third most played class/spec. Being successful isn't about high burst like it is with power specs, it's about outlasting your opponent and timing your fears and death shroud correctly. I'm not a master by any means but I would say I win more fights than I lose as a condi necro, so I can give you some tips.

  • Corrupt Boon, if you don't have it on your skill bar already, is something you should try out. It's excellent against elementalists, engineers, and guardians, or any other spec that can stack tons of boons on themselves. It's especially great if they have stability, because stability turns into fear, which adds to your damage.

  • I usually try to save death shroud for when my health is low, rather than using it to burst down enemies. Obviously the damage and utility it brings along is great, but it's more of a panic button than anything, especially considering condi necros really have no means of escaping a battle if they don't have Flesh Wurm, which I typically don't run.

  • Fear is integral to a condi necro's damage and survivability. Don't blow your cooldowns too early, save them for interrupting your enemy, and please make sure they do not have stability up when you cast it.

  • Condi necros honestly excel at team fights. You have very little means of escape and no combat mobility, so avoiding damage in a 1v1 is difficult. I almost always stick near mid with my necromancer because most team fights occur there, and I can wreak havoc from a distance while my team fights on point.

Again, I am not a master at this spec, but I do enjoy playing it quite a bit and have had a fair amount of success...if you have any other questions I'd be happy to try to answer them!
