Ukraine urges west to be ‘vigilant and firm’ in Russia talks

Yeah I see this in more than one European country. A desire to make peace with Russia and bring them into the fold. I can see why people would want that, because on a fundamental level they deserve as much peace as any other country, and if history was different they could have been close allies.

But history is not different. They’re aggressive and dishonest. They cut diplomatic ties, they assasinate in foreign countries, they disrupt communication equipment and they test the military response time of neighbour countries by flying military aircraft into them. All of which do not indicate defensive policy, it indicates aggressive policy.

In Norway we once opted for benefit of the doubt when germany acted up. «Military neutral» was the term used. The germans captured the country in less than 24 hours. I still have living family members who watched foreign men execute Norwegians on Norwegian soil in broad daylight.

The «nothing will come of it» denial is very dangerous
