TE1 =thickened edge 1. Detail says see foundation schedule. TE1 is not on the schedule. Only WF2. Ask GC super to ask the engineer what he wants for a TE1. He says well we can figure this out. The schedule has a WF2 so let’s go with that. No, a WF2 is for wall footings this is a thickened edge. He says it’s for a metal beam at the roof but it’s on the foundation plan. These guys are clueless. I ask the engineer bc I happen to know him and I was being polite but the chain of command should go through the GC then the subcontractor. Engineer tells me a TE1 is 12”x12” with one #5 bar. A WF2 is 3 #5s with dowels every 4’. The GC gets mad I asked the engineer personally and wants it in writing bc he was too lazy to ask. These guys drive me crazy…
