It is time employers start treating single workers with the same respect that married workers with family's get.

As a childless woman, deep down I want to agree. However I am trying hard to reconcile my feelings because pitting single vs. Families are not going to help anything.

I have been burned so many times by parent Co workers it is hard to not be jealous of the "benefits" they get. I have started to wonder if are jealous of my "benefits".

Because I'm seen as reliable, I have been rewarded with promotions and bonuses. I also accumulate PTO. My parent coworkers are as upset with my monetary rewards as I am up set with thier social rewards. I would love to be able to run late, call out, leave at the drop of a hat, and expect to have the holidays off with little consequences as parents can.

These are just the things I have seen I my career.
