I posted this in another thread because /r/redacted had the headline "In early voting Democrats lead republicans by 88,000."
Here's why that would be a good thing:
49 percent of Florida's eligible voters have already voted. Florida has over 300,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans. Which means they're basically on pace with demographics.
A quick tally with adjusted to demographics puts votes like this:
D: 2,304,000
R: 2,216,000
Clinton and Trump both steal votes from the other party at almost exactly the same rate, so thats a wash. I'm going to ignore Libertarian and Green party voters even though it's likely we'd get an edge being that there are many more libertarians in the state.
INDEPENDENT VOTERS - make up about 25% of the electorate in Florida. Trump leads Independents by an average of about 10%. That means out of 1,728,000 Independent votes already cast in Florida, right now Clinton should have about 777,600 and Trump has about 950,000. Bringing the final tally to:
Clinton: 3,081,600
Trump: 3,166,000
IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT TRUMP IS WINNING FLORIDA.
